The NEW ENGLAND SHOULDER AND ELBOW SOCIETY will be having its third annual meeting from Friday, January 27, through Sunday, January 29, 2006. ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY 2006, the Robert W. Metcalf Memorial Meeting, will be held at Sun Valley, Idaho, February 3 to 7, 2006. Topics covered include arthroscopic and open treatments of shoulder and knee problems. Learning will be enhanced by case presentations,panel discussions,and debates. There will be "mini" courses included on interpreting MRI images of the shoulder and knee, improving business aspects of a practice, and enhancing ancillary services to improve income, understanding, and using electrothermal devices.This meeting is CME approved for approximately 20 CME Category I credits. The INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR DANCE MEDICINE & SCIENCE (IADMS) is accepting proposals for presentations to be given at its 16th annual meeting, to be held October 19 to 21, 2006, in West Palm Beach, Florida. IADMS is a multidisciplinary organization that promotes medical, scientific, and educational activities aimed at enhancing the treatment and training of dancers with the ultimate goal of improving dancers’ health, well-being, and performance. IADMS invites proposals for presentations that contribute to this purpose. Presentations can be in a wide variety of formats. The XV INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON SPORTS REHABILITATION AND TRAUMATOLOGY will be held April 1 and 2, 2006, at the Lingotto Conference Centre, Turin, Italy. The title of the event is "The Rehabilitation of Winter and Mountain Sports Injuries." This congress, promoted by the Isokinetic Education & Research Department, is focused on the rehabilitation techniques available today and necessary for attaining functional recovery after injuries of people practicing winter and mountain sports as professionals or as beginners. The congress will be organized with plenary sessions and lectures. There will also be free oral and poster presentation sessions, at which it will be possible to present experiences and research about the rehabilitation of winter and mountain sports injuries. The 4th INTERNATIONAL SHOULDER COURSE will be held April 27 to 29, 2006, at the Congress Center, Villach, Austria. The organizing committee, chaired by Dr Georg Lajtai, is planning a program with well-known faculty from all over the world to facilitate the discussion of a great variety of options and solutions for shoulder problem treatment. Talks will be of a minimum length of 15 minutes, and enough time for discussion will be provided to offer the participants the opportunity to learn about, to ponder, and to critically evaluate specific issues in shoulder surgery. A large number of hands-on workshops, organized by the most significant companies in the orthopaedic market, will provide the opportunity to get familiar with novel implants and techniques as well as to discuss solutions to particular problems. Last, but not least, the course is the perfect framework for small, informal discussion groups including our world-class faculty members.
